Class 5 Driver – Nightshift

Are you a skilled Class 5 driver with excellent reversing skills and a strong focus on safety?

We’re looking for an experienced and reliable Class 5 Driver to join our clients team on the night shift. You’ll be responsible for moving Class 2, 4 and 5 vehicles between our client's yard and a customer’s factory directly across the road, positioning vehicles for loading, securing loads once loading is complete, and returning vehicles safely to our yard.
This role is ideal for a confident driver who can manoeuvre large vehicles in tight spaces and reverse semi-trailers into loading docks with precision.
The Role – Your Day-to-Day

• Night shift: Start at 3:00 pm, finishing approximately between 1:00 am and 3:00 am.
• Move Class 2, 4 and 5 vehicles between our yard and the customer’s factory.
• Accurately position vehicles for loading and safely manoeuvre in loading bays and confined spaces.
• Secure loads once loading is complete, ensuring all load restraint requirements are met.
• Work alongside another driver to coordinate the movement and loading of approximately 8–12 vehicles per shift.
• Complete all required paperwork accurately and on time.
• Maintain high standards of health, safety and compliance throughout every movement.

What You’ll Bring

• A valid Class 5 driver licence.
• Proven experience operating Class 2, 4 and 5 vehicles safely and efficiently.
• Excellent reversing skills, including backing semi-trailers into loading docks and tight spaces – essential.
• Experience positioning vehicles for loading and manoeuvring in busy yards and factory environments.
• A sound understanding of load restraint and safe load-securing practices.
• The ability to work efficiently during night shifts and manage multiple vehicle movements.
• A team-focused attitude and the ability to work collaboratively with another driver.
• Strong attention to detail, a commitment to safety, and a reliable, self-motivated approach.
• The ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Essential Requirements

• Hold a valid Class 5 driver licence.
• Be confident and experienced in reversing semi-trailers into loading docks and confined spaces.
• Be willing to undergo and pass a pre-employment drug test.
